GLM OCTOPUS
# SAFA-350922
The common Octopus lives in coastal waters as far north as the British Isles and as far south as the Cape of Good Hope in southern Africa. It makes life very difficult for predators with its ability to alter its appearance to match surroundings.
History: An Octopus, despite being very slow moving, is not easy to catch. Its first line of defense is camouflage, the ability to match the colors of its surroundings. Secondary defenses include an inky spray that fills the water and makes pursuit difficult. If an Octopus is caught, it can lose an arm without damage and later regrow the missing appendage.
Scientific Name: Octopus vulgaris
Characteristics: This 8-armed figure is a master of disguise, but it would be happy to show up in an ocean project or artwork.
Size: At around an inch long, this Octopus miniature figure is about the size and shape of a large button.
