GLM KOALA WITH BABY
# SAFA-343722A
Koalas are marsupials, related to Kangaroos and Wallabies and distinguished by their pouches. Although sometimes erroneously called bears, Koalas are not in the bear family and are not remotely related to bears.
History: Koalas and eucalyptus trees are intimately connected. The tough, poisonous leaves of the eucalyptus trees are the favorite food of the fuzzy Koalas, and the marsupials’ claws and opposable digits keep them safely perched among their banquet. Koalas seldom need to leave the trees, as they obtain most of their water needs from the lush leaves.
