History: Llamas were domesticated around 6000 years ago. Like their relative, the Alpaca, Llamas currently exist solely in a domestic state. The wild form of the Llama is believed to be the Guanaco. Llamas are used as pack animals and can cover distances of 20 miles a day while loaded with up to 75 lbs. of weight.
